Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival returns for 2016.

Launching on 30 September and running until 29 October, WCAF16 showcases the creative talent of local, regional, national and international artists. More information to be announced soon.

Packed with performances, exhibitions, events, talks and tours, one of the main strands of the Festival is our Contemporary Open exhibitions. Building on the success of previous years, the Contemporary Open will be hosted by Warrington Museum & Art Gallery, while the Photography Open will be on show at The Gallery at Bank Quay House.

We are inviting artists, living or working in a 50 mile radius of Warrington, to submit up to three works.

Submissions are now open on our website, where you can also find full details about conditions of entry as well as guidance for delivering final work if selected. The submissions deadline is 2 September 2016.

For both exhibitions, first prize is £250 plus a solo exhibition in 2017, while second prize is £100. Thanks to the sponsorship of Warrington Collegiate, a £150 Young Person Prize will be awarded for both the Open Art and Open Photography competitions, for the best entries from artists aged 18 and under.
